My online avatar has been around for a very long time. I originally spelled it “Lifted” but had to change to “Lyphted” after having a few problems with people using the “Lifted” spelling before I was able to get it.
I know I used it online in Tribes 2, Everquest, and Battlefeild 1942 first, but can’t remember when. So I sort of attribute the first time I used “Lifted” to be when I hooked up my PlayStation 2 to a usb Ethernet adapter and was able to connect Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 online and played with a few people.
Shortly after, I found a website that linked PlayStation 2s and Xboxs over the internet using a usb Ethernet adapter and playing in LAN parties over the internet.
I fully took “Lifted” on as my online avatar. In Xbox Live, PSN, Everquest, WoW, and countless games.
Eventually, I moved my WoW server and my character name “Lifted” was taken on the server I was transferring to, so I had to change it. After not coming up with anything, I tried different spellings of “Lifted” and thought “well “glyph” is pronounced the same, if I take the g off it, I have “Lyph” and can just make it “Lyphted””.
